I just finished reading Pastor Andy Deane’s book, “Learn to Study the Bible,” a compilation of forty different methods to get more from your bible study.
Many mature Christians have built a Spirit-led study of Scripture over time that is completely satisfying and reveals the daily message of God’s word to them faithfully. Andy Dean’s book has something for even those who disciple others in Bible study. Those new to such study, or seekers who only want to dip their toe into the Bible without a long-term commitment, will find simple specific step-by-step illustrated instruction.
For others who are hungry for more from their study time, this book is literally the bible-study buffet laid out before them. Pick a little here, taste a bit there… it’s an all-you-can-eat presentation. But, you aren’t expected to sample everything at one sitting, nor is it possible.
No matter your style, your quirks or your level of scholarship, there will be a nugget for you in Andy’s book. He has also included a chapter specifically targeted to teens studying their Bibles.
Honestly, I didn’t think I would find much to add to my personal study – but I did. Just goes to show you, there’s always more…
