Vote already, the smell is driving me nuts!

Is anyone besides me weary of politics?
Few, if any, people will be swayed from one side to the other regardless of the day’s headlines. The Democratic Party removed the last reference to God from its platform, added a new glowing boost to taxpayer funded abortion, and weakened the ties between the US and Israel.
When you eliminate God from the equation you are left with nothing but politicians. This quote from Ezra T. Benson sums it up far better than I can.
“The Lord works from the inside out. The world works from the outside in. The world would take people out of the slums. Christ takes the slums out of people, and then they take themselves out of the slums. The world would mold men by changing their environment. Christ changes men, who then change their environment. The world would shape human behavior, but Christ can change human nature.”
There is precious little that will change before election day. Do you wonder why the people on the “other side” can’t see the error of their ways? Here’s the question that should take care of that wonderment:
Question to Democrats:
What would Barack Obama have to do before election day to change your vote to Mitt Romney?
Question to Republicans:
What would Mitt Romney have to do before election day to change your vote to Mr. Obama?
The answer to both questions is, “Nothing could make me!”
No one who believes Mr. Benson’s statement will vote for Mr. Obama and none who consider it mean-spirited, irrational, or inappropriately religious will vote for Mr. Romney. The only exception are voters who have no interest other than their wallet. If your wallet is filled by government then Mr. Obama is your guy. If your wallet is fat or lean based upon your own actions Mr. Romney is your best hope.
If you believe you need only provide the proper environment for your brethren to prosper — who gets to decide what environment is appropriate? If you believe “by the people for the people” leaves the decisions to the unqualified, how could you argue with Hitler? Stalin? Peron? Castro? Pol Pot? Zedong? Mussolini? Franco?
Presidential politics 2012 smells like canned sardines left on the dashboard of a car on a sunny 106 degree day. How many days remain before we can bury the putrid fish? The smell is driving me nuts.

i think PERSONAL liberty drives my vote.
What direction does personal liberty drive you? Liberty is limited by weather, laws, other people, economics, and nature (God). The issue seems to be which candidate most closely shares your definition of personal liberty. No society may coexist with limitless personal liberty. One choice promotes such liberties as abortion and non-traditional marriage. This same side also plans to control your medical liberty and hold you accountable for errors made by others in previous decades and centuries. They will tell you what they’ll give you and how much you will contribute to the care of others. Your liberty will be balanced on their idea of what others are entitled to.
Personal liberty is limited and there is no perfect choice for president. But there is an obvious choice for folks who treasure the greatest liberty possible. One side seeks to provide opportunity for citizens to determine their own destiny. The other hopes to plan your destiny for you.
“Drive” carefully when you vote.
