Introduction to Rapture and Revelation

Introduction
“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— “ – 1 Corinthians 15:50-51
This is the End Time.
Rapture and Revelation will not tell you what to believe, but it will ask you to be honest about why you believe what you do. This old world is rapidly aging as fires, floods, droughts, earthquakes, and storms ravage every continent. The clock of human history is quickly running down as nations, economies, and religions are either at war with one another or ready to implode upon themselves.
There is an absolute need for messages that offer the simple truth about the times we live in. Trust is something you remember from the good old days, not something you can teach your children today by pointing out a politician, doctor, news anchor, minister, or teacher. Watch the news long enough and you’ll have ample reason to distrust all of the above. The absence of trust is the beginning of fear.
False teaching is the greatest hazard for today’s Christians. How do you know that many of your core beliefs are not the result of false teaching that originated in false prophecy? Rapture and Revelation will challenge you to examine what you believe and compare it to the source – God’s Word.
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.” – 1 John 4:1,3
There are as many unique relationships with God as there are humans. Just as every parent-child relationship is different so is the experience of every child of the King of Kings who pursues right relationship with Him. The experience of any friend, pastor, teacher, or writer will not be the same as yours. Yours will not be the same as mine. We are children of the same true God but no two will ever walk an identical path of salvation. Rapture and Revelation is a tool for your use, intended to enlighten and support you as you persevere with all in the family of Christ.
Are you sure you know why you believe what you believe?
Are you certain you define God the same way as your friends? Are the lessons about tolerance and spirituality taught in public schools consistent with God’s Word or some other gospel that has nothing to do with Jesus of Nazareth? Does your pastor preach the words of the apostles or those approved by a more progressive theology?
I am not a Greek or Hebrew scholar. I do not have original prophecy from God. As you read this book compare what I suggest with the Bible. Evaluate the meaning of each verse cited and ask yourself if what I present helps you to better understand what you already believe, if it raises a new question, or if it sheds a fresh light of understanding on the topic or concept being discussed.
Bible scholarship is simply that — the study of a book titled The Bible. Every academic who studies the words in that book is free to teach whatever opinion he or she draws from the exercise. The best, brightest, and most credentialed academics across twenty centuries do not agree on what the Bible says. I’m not suggesting I belong among those scholars. I’m just a regular person tapped by God to serve the family of Christ. The ultimate responsibility to “rightly divide” the Word of God is yours alone. [2 Timothy 2:15]
“I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet.” But they said, We will not hearken. Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them. Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it. — Jeremiah 6:17-19
Without doubt this is the End Time. Perhaps we will see Jesus Christ today. But even if the Rapture does not occur in your natural lifetime, living in harmony, peace, and joy with God will bless you every day until you finally pass into immortality.
How do I know this is the End Time? The morning of March 11, 2011 changed my life forever.
. . . . . . . . .
Thanks for reading the introduction. As we get closer to production I would like to ask, would you be likely to turn the page after reading it? Is there a scripture that comes to mind? This is a completely different project for me and I appreciate your help, your thoughts, and your time.

Dear Lynn,
I think it needs more direct hits to pack a punch and peak interest. It seems like you are giving the readers a reason not to trust your opinions because you haven’t gone to theological college. There are so many books and articles that ask us to prove to ourselves and to others that what we believe is the real Word of God.
What does your book contain that a reader will want to continue and before he is even half finished, be so excited by it that he would recommend it to his friends? When you come up with that answer, with inspiration of the Lord, write your introduction.
Thanks for you thoughts and time, Marie. Would this help?
Five words cause big trouble when we speak or debate issues of politics, culture, or faith because none of them have a common meaning in the 21st century. Add one or more to a conversation and wait for the fight to begin.
• God
• Jesus
• Christian
• Grace
• Antichrist
These familiar words have been hijacked by recent cultural shifts. Sometimes the profound lies within the particular. In other words, bridging the distance between heaven and earth may depend upon the difference between what a word used to mean and its definition today.
Yes, I would read it, especially to find out what happened on March 11, 2011. I believe we’re in the End Times, but, even if we’re not, it doesn’t change what I believe or why. I pray, “Come Lord, Jesus.” But, I can’t let that desire to see him take my focus off what or who God is leading me to today, this very moment.
Best wished on the new book.
Dan
You are so right, Dan. There should be no difference in how we live each day whether Christ returns today or in another thousand years. I tried to let this one sit and just quietly go away. That didn’t happen. I am looking forward to a little break while it’s off for the final copy edit. Blessings.
Dear Lynn:
I would absolutely turn the page. This sounds like a great book. I will look forward to it with great interest. You are so articulate and insightful. I can’t say that any particular verse comes to mind. You quoted the ones I would have thought of.
I agree. This is it. We are right towards the end of time.
Fondly,
Laura
Thank you, Laura. There is an urgency that is not being spoken from many church leaders today. About 7% of the US population will read the book and nod. The rest will either think about it or burn it. My hope is that the 7% will be joined by a much larger group after considering the message.
Lynn, yes, I would definitely turn the age o read. You have peaked my brain and heart with the introduction. As far as bringing a scripture to mind, there are many. Bth those that are prophetic o the end times and those that are od comfort to stand strong at TJ’s time.
Please let me know when he book will be coming out! I definitely would like to read it.
Forgive the typos. Trying to type too quickly and one-handed on my iPad!
Thank you for your reply, Kalena. It will be out in ebook form in about a month. Then print a bit later. The whole thing is going back to the editor tomorrow for a final copy edit. It will be so good to come up for air!
Blessings,
Lynn
Lynn, my suggestion is to be less ambiguous with regard to your beliefs. It seems contradictory. Love your work, no need to qualify so much.
Jeff, thank you. I have a feeling that when someone reads the whole thing they won’t walk away with a sense of ambiguity. I’ll have to go back to see what might seem ambiguous or qualified. You help is greatly appreciated. Having spend so much of my recent life in this work I have to check with others to be sure I’m communicating what I intend in the Introduction.
